A relatively new face in the ROCOL team, Kirstie joined the company over the summer as human resources officer. You can learn a little bit more about Kirstie below, from what attracted her to the position at ROCOL, how she’s found the role so far and where she can be found when she’s not at work.
How did your career in the lubricants industry begin?
My role with ROCOL is my first experience within the lubricants industry, and I joined the business in July 2022. I have previous experience working within human resources, which is what led me to apply for the position at ROCOL.
How long have you worked at ROCOL and what attracted you to the company?
Before I started with ROCOL in July 2022, the main thing that attracted me to the company, as well as the role itself, was the opportunity to move away from conveyancers, which is the only industry I have gained HR experience with. The lubricant and manufacturing industry is very different to the conveyancing industry, and I am really enjoying learning the different elements to the business.
What are your favourite parts of your role?
My favourite part of my role is the people, who I’m fortunate to see a lot of as part of the human resources department. Since I started with ROCOL in July, I have really enjoyed settling in and I’m pleased to say I’ve found everyone to be really welcoming to me.
How do you spend your time outside work?
I spend a lot of my time outside of work mainly looking after my two boys, who are two and five years old. When I’m not chasing around after the little monkeys I love dining out and socialising.
Share one fact that your colleagues wouldn’t know about you.
One fact that my colleagues may not know is that I have done two skydives! One was in Bridlington in the UK and the other was in Byron Bay, Australia. You may also be surprised to find out that the Bridlington skydive was much more picturesque!
