How did your career in the lubricants industry begin?
This is my very first experience in the industry, but I have been curious about lubricants for years.
Working at ROCOL is actually my first role in the industry. Before that, I spent years watching colleagues operating CNC machines manufacturing metal parts. These were cooled down using some sort of ‘liquid solution’, which I never knew I would have the opportunity to work with more in the future.
In my school days, I would be fascinated by the guy who specialised in greasing car and engine components at my grandparents’ garage.
Working in manufacturing and service/repair environments over the years has provided me with a basic knowledge of greases and oils. I am keen to expand on this knowledge and use it to help other manufacturers.
How long have you worked at ROCOL and what attracted you to the company?
I have been with ROCOL for four months and am delighted to be part of such a genuine and supportive team.
Coming from a similar role and environment, I immediately identified ROCOL as a great and solid company. Manufacturing in the UK works to high levels of quality and is always a good indicator of opportunity and success. That combined with the international presence and the support that being part of ITW brings to the business, grew my excitement to join ROCOL.
What are your favourite parts of your role?
Being part of the ROCOL team, the role offers all that a sales professional could ask for. Top performance products, a dynamic team of unique individuals who are experts in their own fields, and the opportunity to work with people and organisations across the world.
How do you spend your time outside work?
I enjoy reading books on history and economics as well as keeping up with new technologies. Also, if the weather allows, I never miss the opportunity to play a match of Padel or Frontenis with friends.
Additionally, I am trying to improve my cooking skills, which is my biggest challenge to date!
Share one fact that your colleagues wouldn’t know about you.
During the summer, at weekends you will find me wakeboarding early in the morning or just before the sun sets in the evening.
