Following our recent acquisition of the ISO 27001 certification, we’re proud to announce that the British Standards Institution have now also completed the recertification audit for ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, reinforcing ROCOL’s commitment to safety, the environment and our partners.
ISO 14001 standard provides guidance on how to reduce our impact on the environment. It drives us to evaluate how to manage emergency response, customer expectations, stakeholders and our relationships with the local community. It makes our day to day operations more sustainable, build resilience against uncertainty as well as the ability to rapidly adapt to change.
OHSAS 18001 is a framework for an occupational health and safety (OHS) management system. It enables us to put in place the policies, procedures and controls needed to achieve the best possible working conditions and workplace health and safety, aligned to internationally recognised best practice.
The BSI observed and noted the following positive areas during their assessment:
- Strategic direction through the ‘growth plan’ business objectives
- Document management system content
- Senior management commitment
- Improvement in housekeeping in production areas
- Openness of employees met during the assessment
