Industry: Automotive Logistics
Country: Belgium
Company: Hödlmayr International
Product: ROCOL EASYLINE® EDGE
Application: Temporary Line Marking for Vehicle Storage and Transport Operations
Overview
Hödlmayr International, a major logistics partner for some of Europe’s most recognised automotive brands and leasing companies, needed a reliable line marking solution that could withstand tough environments while remaining removable when required. With a central hub in Belgium and operations spread across Western Europe, the company frequently transforms industrial spaces and even disused airfields into structured vehicle storage sites.
Their requirements were clear: markings had to be visible and durable, even on rough surfaces and in variable weather, but not permanently fixed. After consultation with trusted distributor Lambert Products, Hödlmayr selected ROCOL’s EASYLINE® EDGE – a robust aerosol line marking system that delivered on every front.
While the customer viewed the product as semi-permanent for their specific needs, ROCOL highlights that EASYLINE EDGE is engineered for high durability in demanding environments—far beyond typical expectations for aerosol-based systems.
The Challenge
With thousands of vehicles stored and moved across temporary locations, safety and organisation were critical. These makeshift parking areas came with several complications:
• Non-permanent sites meant traditional road marking paint was unsuitable.
• Surface variability (smooth concrete, rough concrete, fresh tarmac, even coarse asphalt) created adhesion challenges.
• Weather unpredictability in Belgium meant markings needed to withstand frequent rain, damp surfaces, and fluctuating temperatures without compromising visibility or adhesion.
• Operational scale – some sites, including a converted one-kilometre runway – required efficient aerosol usage without excessive costs.
The company needed a solution that was cost-effective, easy to use, and adaptable across surface types without compromising on line clarity or lifespan.
Although EASYLINE EDGE was used in a semi-permanent context by Hödlmayr, its performance in such a high-traffic, high-wear environment demonstrates its durability and efficiency compared to standard aerosol products.
